From Blindside
I will soon be putting up information designed to help those wishing to contribute information to this wiki.
To contribute to this wiki, you must create an account. It takes about a minute and is not intrusive. Click above and create an account. I'll wait...
The first piece of advice for those feeling a bit intimidated is to click the tab marked 'edit' on any page. You will then see that some tools are available to help you format your contribution. Some of them are like the tools you would find in a word processor program, such as buttons to click to bold, italicize and underline what you write.
Note my first wiki mistake--what I thought was the underline button was actually an internal link button. Oops. That's the cool thing about wikis. You can make a mistake and correct it later. There is no 'underline' button. The cooler thing about wikis is that if I make another mistake (of course highly unlikely) and you notice it, you can correct it. Not only will I not be offended, I depend on this xxx core feature of wikis. So, welcome to wikis and make your first change. Please remove the three x's in the previous sentence and change them to y's. Leave a note to the next visitor to change to z's.
Note that I did not discover my mistake until I saved the changes. You may also use buttons to create an internal link, external link, create a headline, insert an embedded image, link to a media file, put in a mathematical formula, ignore wiki formatting, put your signature with a time stamp, and insert a horizontal line.
If you hover your mouse over a button, a two-word description of the button should appear. To use the button function, highlight the text you wish to deal with and then click the button.
Wikis are designed to be user-friendly and to be tolerant of mistakes. Jump in and write something. If you are happy with what you wrote, at the bottom of the page are two buttons to preview your changes and to save changes. Saving changes puts them up on the wiki. If you want to experiment, you can remove your changes later.

Other proposed help topics:
[edit] How to start a new page on this wiki.
This is easier than I thought. Use two square brackets. Then, type the word newpage. Then, close with two square brackets. It should be done.
[edit] How to put a link into your material.
Okay, I'll have to experiment with this--watch and laugh. I am going to try to link to Yahoo.
First, I will use a square bracket. Then, I will type in both Yahoo and the complete URL, http://www.yahoo.co.uk. Then, I will finish with another square bracket. But I don't think this is going to work.... [Yahoo http://www.yahoo.co.uk]
Yes, a slight glitch up above. Note that the URL was clickable by itself. So, let's try putting just the word Yahoo in square brackets followed by the URL:
[Yahoo]http:www.yahoo.co.uk Then, we save the results to see if I'm a winner...
Let's check the results... hmmm.
Being a bright lad, I went over to look at another page to see how it was done there. Let's see if I can remember this... single square bracket, then the URL, then the site name, then close bracket.
Hey, it worked!
