		<description>Apart from your first point, which is a result of our legislators' lack of work experience and thus of "real world" exposure, the other three all come back to the arrogance of politicians.  They believe they are trustworthy and acting in our best interests, and that there is no possibility of any future politician being any different; they even believe this to be broadly true of their opposition.

They are genuinely confused and upset when presented with evidence that they are not trusted, and persuade themselves that the fault is ours, for lack of trust.  The alternative would be the painfull admission that they are at fault through a lack of honesty, and they don't seem capable of that.</description>
